The PSM II course is intended for Scrum Masters with at least one year of experience who are looking to grow their knowledge and abilities as a Scrum Master. This course is one step in that journey.
Stephanie Ockerman was a Professional Scrum Master (PSM) Curriculum Steward for over 5 years, working with the trainer community and Ken Schwaber to continuously evolve the courseware. Stephanie also works with Scrum.org to teach, assess, and mentor PSM trainer candidates. She is co-author of the book Mastering Professional Scrum.
By the end of two days, you will:
Experience practices, tools, skills and stances that make an effective Scrum Master.
Apply the Scrum principles and values that guide Scrum Masters in the decisions they make.
Understand how the Scrum Master acts as a servant-leader and improves their ability in this role.
Know what the Scrum Master can do to support Developers and Product Owners to become more effective.
Identify ways that the Scrum Master can help to change the environment, making it more conducive for Scrum Teams to be successful with greater agility.
Experience techniques for the Scrum Master to work with the rest of the organization in support of their Scrum Teams.

I recommend starting with a different course that will give you a solid foundation in the Scrum framework (perhaps APS or PSM). This course is designed for Scrum Masters with at least one year of experience.
Whether you have one year or ten years of Scrum Master experience, you will still get a ton of value from this course. You will be able to bring your experiences to the classroom to both help further the learning of the group and to get additional insights for approaching Scrum challenges. Many students with Scrum experience indicate they get more grounded in the why of Scrum, so they can better empower and enable their Scrum Teams and organizations. Yes! When you take this course, you will get a free attempt at the Professional Scrum Master II (PSM II) assessment. If you achieve an 85% on the assessment, you earn your PSM II credential.
